They seem to be inspired by Balrogs, no? Elmore’s art for them resembles John Howe’s Balrogs. Still, very cool in their own right. A neat “twist” just as most of Tolkien’s races have been given a neat twist in Sovereign Stone. Regards.

I also thought the Bahk were kind of a neat twist. I wish they would have had to fight them at the end of book three. The whole idea of the ruins of Old Vinnengael just seems to be screaming for an awesome module, with all those bahk running around!

I already started a thread about that in the Adventures section, Andora. ;-) But, I agree. I feel like the whole central “Dagnarus” plot of the books was a little too tight to really showcase the world. Even the whole thing with Raneesa the Fire Dragon was kind of shoehorned in and didn’t have much of a place in the story. I was left with a sense that there was so much more to the world than what was in the books. But, that’s actually great when you factor in the RPG. There’s a bigger, more exciting tale awaiting the characters. And it would certainly involve some of those Bahk. :-) Regards.
