This short story by Margaret Weis and Don Perrin was published in Dragon #264 (1999), and it might also have possibly been included in the Quickstart Rules (1999) as well. It was not long before it was made freely available on the web. It is certainly one of the earliest published pieces of Sovereign Stone fiction, and indeed of the entire franchise. It sets up some major characters of Guardians of the Lost and Journey Into the Void. Regards.
