Alright, so I have a question... why are the pecwae somewhat ignored as a race in these books? Why are they not good enough to have their own portion of the Sovereign Stone? Is this an oversight, or is there an actual reason?

I kinda figured it was like the Hobbits in Middle-earth. There were never considered a major race simply because they never played a part in any of the great histories, wars, commerce, etc. Also they were considered to be part of Humanity in terms of their fate and such. This seems to be the case in Loerem, where the Pecwae share the affinity to Earth that Humans have. There’s one point in the books where they describe the ancient origins of the races, where Dwarves actually came from Wolves and Orcs from Orcas and such. I presume the Pecwae ultimately share a common ancestry with Humans, and are thus really just a minor offshoot of that race.
On a practical level, the Tamaros built portals to specific races because he wanted to promote commerce cease war between them, and it just wasn’t an issue with the Pecwae. It probably never even occurred to him. If he was smart he would have also commissioned a portal to Dunkarga, but I suspect he did (perhaps subconsciously) want to marginalize the other Human nations to the greater glory of Vinnengael.
As for the Sovereign Stone, I think the four portions were essentially Earth, Air, Water, and Fire. Bashae was an equally valid bearer for the Earth stone as Gustav or Shadamehr.
That’s my hunch. But I'd like to hear what Don and/or Les have to say, if anything. Regards.

At some point, it talked about them being considered less than human in the past. Tamaros was a great guy, but even he was a product of his time. They sold them as pets at one point, didn't they? Tamaros never considered giving dogs and cats a Stone, he probably thought the same about Pecwae.
